Dr. Alan L. Peet is a Board Certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon who has been practicing his specialty for over 20 years. He retired from the US Air Force in 2006 and moved to Sequim.

Dr. Peet is skilled in all aspects of oral and maxillofacial surgery. During his career, he has been an educator, residency program director, oral surgery board examiner, and national board review course lecturer.

Dr. Peet completed his undergraduate education at Utah State University in Logan, Utah from 1977-1980, obtaining a B.S. degree in Biology. Alan graduated from the University of Washington School of Dentistry in 1984 and then completed a 1-year General Practice Residency at the University of Utah.

During this year, they were blessed with the birth of their first child Erik and decided to join the Air Force. The Peet’s first assignment as a General Dentist was Luke Air Force Base, Arizona where they were stationed from 1985-1989. While at Luke, their family grew with the birth of twins Ally and Ashley and Alan was accepted for specialty training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.

In May 1989, they moved on to San Antonio, Texas where Alan completed his residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Wilford Hall Medical Center, Lackland AFB, Texas in 1993. He remained on the teaching staff following graduation for one year. In 1994, he furthered his education through fellowship training in Facial Cosmetic Surgery at Northwest Facial Surgery in Seattle, Washington. Dr. Peet then moved to California and joined the David Grant USAF Medical Center Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency teaching staff from 1995-1999 and served as the residency program director for 2 years. He spent the next four years as Chief of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Ramstein AB, Germany.

Dr. Peet and family returned to San Antonio in 2003 and finished his military career assigned to the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency Program at Wilford Hall Medical Center, San Antonio Texas. Colonel Peet retired from the Air Force having served his country for 21 years 5 months and 22 days. His military awards and decorations consist of: The Air Force Meritorious Service Medal with 2 Oak leaf clusters, the Air Force Commendation Medal, and the Air Force Achievement Medal. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, a Fellow in the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and a member of the American Dental Association. Dr. Peet has been an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Board Examiner for six years and a lecturer at a National Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Review course for 10 years. He was the President of the Olympic Peninsula Dental Society for 10 years.

Dr. Peet is married to his wife of 40 years Nancy Hebertson Peet. They have three married children: Erik a dentist in Utah, Ashley a dentist in Houston and Ally a physician in Tucson.
